A quick upload today of another shot from Castle Ashby. I liked the look of this tree standing all alone. Winter trees are so wonderful showing us all the structure!
Barb's son Colin coming round and taking lots of things we have cleared out from our kitchen and study. With the flood and the work that is going to happen - new kitchen and new flooring - we need to sort out our cupboards. When my sister moved in with me it was difficult to merge two households of things. We had to give away a lot especially to the charity shops. We are now getting rid of even more - china, books, etc etc. Life's laundry once again!! It was easy to ignore all the things we had in cupboards but are now forced to evaluate what exactly do we need!!
Roy our builder is putting together the quote for the insurance company. The dehumidifier is running every day and filling with water. Not much can be done while everything is still wet!! When Roy comes to dig up the kitchen and dining room floor I am handing over the keys and we are going away for a few days with the dogs. I am worrying about moving all our furniture out of each room when the other floors are being replaced and I have told my nephew we are going to need help!! As you can tell I am a bit stressed about the whole thing!!
I am glad to hear you are moving out for a few days. Definitely a better plan while they do the initial disruptive stuff. It will be fantastic when it's finished, dream on that! And what a great excuse to have to sort out your stuff and make it more manageable. I was looking round my house after reading this and thinking how much I should whittle it down. One doesn't need as much as one thinks sometimes, eh?
Beautiful image, so bright and resilient against the elements there. Stay safe today. It's wild out there!
Such a great tree photograph. You will be so glad when you get everything cleaned out and completed. I’m so glad you can go away while the kitchen is being done, it’s the busiest, most important room in the house. Just take one day at a time and before long all will be well.
It certainly is a beautiful tree. I had great plans to clear out some of my kitchen cupboards today. I managed to remove a couple of candles and tealight holders :))
Lovely winter tree picture. I am sure both you, and the dogs, will be glad to get away from it all for a few days. Maybe not relaxation, but certainly less stress for a while.
