Work has begun

I am so sad to see this as work has now begun on the fields which I can see from my house. They are building houses, a school and shops and the farmland will disappear and Wellingborough will join up with the next village of Little Harrowden. The countryside is disappearing!! It breaks my heart to see this.
We have this happening on almost every piece of undeveloped land around us as well. I don’t know where all the money comes from to do these massive developments.

I believe this is called progress however it is so sad to see.

How sad that your farmland views will disappear soon.

While I love construction, I, too, bemoan the loss of the countryside.

Oh what a shame, wishing they were dinky toys?

In every available field this is happening all over. We have plans for an extra 600 houses in our village, it will double the population.
I don’t know the answer. All pricy homes too....the token cheaper ones which strangely are the ones that aren’t selling.

Kas
I read that due to COVID people want to move out of cities and move into the rural areas. However, too many developments and the rural will no longer be rural.

Damn!!! The plague of Pete Seeger's little boxes is spreading. There's a major outbreak round here. We hate it.

And they call it progress???

Ugh. The same thing has happened to the (once) small town I used to live and work in. So much for rural peace

Same here, 100 behind our house. 3000 on what was greenbelt land between us and Nottingham

A very sad scene, to be sure.
