@salza@steampowered@davidgnc@gerry@phillchilton@danitech@yonnie@tara11@agentzuckerguss@justine_x@audreymyhre@megmills@anazad511 Thank you all very much for your lovely comments!!
Many thanks also for all your kind wishes - very much appreciated!! I was hoping my back would feel better today but no luck so far. I can't sit down for too long and I am getting a shooting pain down my leg. Just shoot me!! Oh that would be a good picture!! LOL!! Not sure what I am going to do for todays shot - I think the drugs have addled my brain!!
Beautiful colours and very well photogaphed amethsyt! Hope your back gets better soon. I used to have a bad back and lying down was sometimes the best thing. It's got much better since I've got older (one consolation!!)
@quietpurplehaze Thanks Hazel I appreciate your comments. My bad back seems to be a recurrence of an old injury. I always have to be careful but I picked up Finlay to put him in the car and wasn't thinking as he was wriggling!! Ouch!!
@kjarn Thanks Kathy. This is a large wall mirror my nephew gave me and it sits on top of a table against the wall. On the wall I have stuck white card. I have to be careful when taking the photo that the only thing reflected in the mirror is the white card. If I want a black reflecton i put up black card. I use my flash off camera and with the white I point it at the card behind the object to try to blow it out. Sometimes I feel I don't get it white enough so I might try to get another flash. not sure that will help - its all trial and error. If you want i can take a photo of my set up if that will help. The one thing I really have probelms with is getting reflections on an object from the window and this can be a pain sometimes!! I also have a lightbox which i use too if i want something different from the reflections. I feel I am getting a bit samey (is that a word?) but its been useful having this setup for macro while i have this bad back and can't get out.
Thank you so much Pam. I'm only using a point and shoot so maybe that's why it doesn't work for me. I will try getting some black and white card though and give it a go.
@kjarn I am sure it will work Kathy. Once you have the backing card up you have to keep moving the object to make sure you only have that reflected around the object. Sometimes I have to keep moving my tripod higher so I am looking down towards the subject. It really is a case of keep moving round until you are happy with what you are seeing through the viewfinder.

It's always those 'just' moments, isn't it? Done in a trice and then have to suffer afterwards.
