Finaly and I are back from our week away in North Devon. We had a lovely week and the weather was quite good for Devon in April - at least it didn't rain. I have really missed all my 365 friends and looking and commenting on all your wonderful daily updates - it felt very strange not having internet connection!! I did take photos every day but the light was not good for landscapes most of the week. We did have two beautiful sunsets and once I have had a chance to check out all my shots I expect they will feature. I am hoping to have time tomorrow to catch up with you all and get some of my shots uploaded. This is Finlay in the garden of the house we stayed in last week. As you can see it overlooked the beach at Instow and looked across the river to Appledore. A wonderful spot and Finlay loved to watch out for anyone or any dog passing by on HIS beach and he would let them know!! This is my shot for Silence as Finlay was actually quiet at the time!! LOL!!
Finlay really does look like lord all he surveys, my dog used to build his empire round our tent! Just read the bit about you and interested in what make your 100-400 lens is, as I am hoping to get one to capture pesky birds on our feeder
@carolmw@darrenboyj@gozoinklings@gazbadger@gerry@salza@jo13@mittens@elisasaeter@agentzuckerguss@jodimuli@swilde@pixiemac Thank you all so much for the lovely welcome back and your wonderful comments!! I really have missed you all!!
Gerry thank you so much for the fav - you are too kind!!
Sarah - all my lenses are Canon. I have a couple of other makes which i bought when i first got my SLR but I could never get the clarity I wanted. I took the advice of a pro togger and put my money into the glass so even though Canon are so expensive it was worth waiting until I could afford the ones I really wanted. When I bought the Canon 100-400mm I was so thrilled at the quality of wildlife shots I could finally capture. It is a heavy lens to carry around but i think its worth it!! Of course the lens still doesn't get me as close as I really want - however the 500mm is sooooo expensive and even if i could afford it I couldn't pick it up to use as it weighs a ton!! For frame filling shots of birds on your bird table the 100-400 is perfect. Try it out for size first Sarah - it might be worth hiring one to see if you like it before you buy.
This is such a familiar sight.... That is the westie looking out for any action. Jock would have to be on a rope though as he would take off if he saw another dog. Delightful shot.
@ipost4u@justine_x@phillchilton Thanks Chris, Justine and Phill!! Chris Finlay was on a long training lead as the first time I let him out into the garden he chased down to the wall and was barking his head off at dogs on the beach. It was high up from the pavement but i didn't trust him not to jump over and run across the road!! I have cloned the lead out in PS.
Good to be back Phill!! I did miss everyone on 365!!
