I think this is a Common Tern but not sure. I went for a walk today with some friends who are visiting and this tern was hovering above us for ages. The sun shone and it has been a beautiful day!!
@gerry@shweetheart@agentzuckerguss@demmie@elaine55@jesperani@kjarn@mittens@httpgeffed@yonnie thank you all so much for your lovely comments! Thanks Gerry and Dem for you Favs bet much appreciated! Kathy you are quite right I gave up on the star wars topic! Just not for me! As I was out walking with my friends I took my 100-400mm lens with me and I got some good flight shots. The force was with me! Lol! I decidedl to use one for my today's shot.
@thirtysevenways Many thanks - this was taken with my 100-400mm lens on Al servo and I got a whole set of him hovering with his wings in different positions. He was very obliging to stay in almost the same spot!!
@kittikat Ha Ha Kitti!! Many thanks for the Fav!! Its funny I do hesitate when identifying birds as I have been caught out a couple of times by a bird expert on another forum. One time I took a shot of what I thought was a sparrow but was put in my place for the second time by this chap who said "I think you will find its a dunnock" It has become a joke with all my friends who tell me whatever bird shot I put up that its a dunnock!! LOL!!
