15th August 2013 Death of the sunflowers

Topic of the Day - Decay -

It's always sad when they come to an end but as they were decaying in the vase the smell was awful!! I wish this was smelly vision!! Off to the bin with them now I have taken my shot!! LOL!! Mind you I think they still look rather beautiful even when shrivelled like this.

16th August - On PP wow I am really surprised and very pleased by this!! Many thanks to you all for your great comments and Favs which put it there!!

Pam, I really like this front and back beautiful shot of drying sunflowers. Well put together, beautiful composition and perfectly lit. I am going to be looking for a nice boquet of sunflowers for a basket I want to hang, I will just put them in the basket and let them dry - after I have enjoyed them for a week or so in a vase of water.
August 16th, 2013
Pam, this is so well done! Wow! Fav!

August 16th, 2013
@sansjuan that sounds lovely Nita! I look forward to seeing a shot of the basket. Perhaps if you have them outside they will dry without the smell! Three people on Facebook have told me to put them out for the birds to eat the seeds so I am going to get them out of the bin and put them in the garden!

And, of course, I wander over here and find THIS! The detail is fabulous, as are the colors and composition. You created a great shot out of sunflowers past their prime. Brava! Fav for me too.
