10th September 2013 -Two Herons and a Crow

The most unusual sight for me was seeing Herons on the beach each morning as the tide went out. I thought they were river and lake birds. They were obviously getting lots of fish as they were there every day. As per usual I was too far away to get any good shots. This is taken with my 100-400mm lens and a tight crop. I did try to creep up on them but it was impossible!! I have never been lucky enough to get a closeup of a Heron!! The other unusual thing was the crow - they also seem to have taken to hunting for food on the beach. More crows than seagulls!! How very strange!!
Cool capture and quite a strange sight to see.

I usually see them in lakes here but now I remember seeing some in Jamaica.

I have only seen them on the river or a lake, as well. Lovely capture, Pam.
