Yes I know it's another robin shot but it is a different one. A little friend arrived yesterday and the two robins have been chasing each other round and round. Is this a femail I wonder? I checked in the book and I think both male and female have red breasts. This is a different one - spot the little white mark on the top of the wing. My aim is to get a shot of the two of them together. They have been too fast for me this morning and the light is not good enough to get any fast shutter speed!!
Luckily the topic for today is bird as that's all I seem to be able to get at the moment!!
Many thanks for all your lovely comments on my Blackcap yesterday - no sign of him this morning!!
Snap, thanks for the heads up on word of the day I shall tag mine in. You should be able to recognise the difference now with this useful little birth mark. Gorgeous.
Wow == your powers of observation are really get honed in these robin shots!! The white is so obvious to me AFTER you pointed it out!! A great, clear detailed shot.
Oh, I am a sucker for it and "IT" and I hope it is true love. Or at least a wonderful friendship. I hope you get the two of them together soon. This is a beautiful shot of the newbie - and I know you will get the perfect one of the two of them.
Nice shot, you are right you can't tell male from female, in the wild. That white flash is so handy to let you follow him/her. I have got at least three and can't tell them apart as they fight and play. They will tolerate other Robins when it's cold, as soon as it warms up, they will fight to the death for a territory.
