This is the fender (as we call bumper) of my friend's Galaxie 500. What a fabulous car. I would love to drive it but have to be content with taking photos of it!! The darker colour on the bonnet is the reflections of the houses nearby.

This brings back memories. When I lived in East Suffolk in the 60's while in the US Air Force, my neighbor imported a big American Ford. Of course the steering wheel was on the "wrong" side, and it was way too big to drive safely on the narrow, winding country roads he needed to use to get to work. I wonder what happened to that car?
I love seeing these old cars Pam, great metal work. We see quite a few old cars around here, more than I have seen in UK. The car industry here in Australia will have disappeared by 2017.
