This is a leaf from a lovely shrub in my garden. When the sun shines the whole bush lights up. I cannot remember the name. This is for the patterns theme.

I am sorry I am so far behind in my comments - hopefully I will be able to catch up over the weekend. Back from my holidays but so many jobs to do. It was the garden today - great to be out there in the sunshine!!
@pixiemac I have a red robin but Sarah and it's completely different to this. I had a different variety in my previous house in Redhill and the leaves were a bright green and the blossom looked like flame - I think Maggiemae @maggiemae might be right. I seem to remember the name of the shrub starts with C - gosh my memory is getting bad!! I used to be good at remembering names of plants etc!! LOL!!
Great vivid colour.. We have a Red Robin too - the leaves vary from this shade of red to green on the same bush at the same time, and so this could be Red Robin.
@pamknowler@shepherdman I have found a picture in my gardening encyclopedia - it is called Cotinus. Thank goodness I would have been thinking about it all night!! LOL!!
