13th June 2014 - Bee orchid

I went out this morning to see if I could find any wild orchids (2nd try). As I was standing by the river side watching the damselflies and banded demoiselles I looked down and this rare bee orchid was by my feet. It is such a tiny plant I so easily could have missed it or even worse trodden on it.

Many thanks to you all for your great comments on yesterday's poppy shots. The backlit poppy and the peeping poppy bud from the day before are both on the PP today. This morning the floating feather was still there so for a brief time I had 3 shots on the PP. Very chuffed!!
