22nd January 2014 - Flamborough head Lighthouse by pamknowler

22nd January 2014 - Flamborough head Lighthouse

We actually went to Flamborough on the 21st after we visited Bempton Cliffs. The fog had slightly lifted but at Bempton it was so muddy!! You should have seen the colour of Finlay when we got home!! Sadly there were very few birds - it really is too early for the gannets to be back on the cliffs. I did however spot one lone gannet flying up and down the coastline out to sea. I took some shots but not good enough to share.

We then drove to Flamborough but when I got out of the car I could hardly stand as the wind had really blown up - very cold!! It was still misty and you could hear the siren of the lighthouse. As the light was so bad this shot on my iphone was not very good so i converted it to B&W in NikEfex pro which gave it a bit more detail.

Uploaded for my alternate album
I love the processing on this with the frame and colour. Gives it an days gone by feel!

Difficult to get detail in the white lighthouse with a white sky in flat light. You did well.
