11th March 2014 -Birds nest

When I brush Finlay I put the hair that comes off him into this bird feeder. This morning finally I saw a blue tit taking beakfulls of fur presumably to line it's nest. Nice to think they will have a soft lining for their babies. I will try to get a shot of the tit taking the fur.

Ooooooo what a brilliant idea!i have enough bunny fur in this house for an apartment complex of nests! Will try it! Awesome shot.love the light and contrast of soft fur and metal bars.

Yes. I've read about doing this but struggled as top how to hang it up. This is a great idea.

What a great idea!!! I saw a nest recently at my daughter's school that had yarn, craft feathers and all kinds of art supplies that the kids either left out or dropped along the way! :)

Lovely shot Pam....and such a great idea! Jarvis doesn't shed much but lots of matting at this time of the year, I'm sure the birds would appreciate a fluffy lining to their nests :-)

What a great idea! We often joke about the birds nests that our dog feathers, but we have never actually done this. We used to brush our other dog outside and let the fur fly.

Cool capture. I've heard you can do that and the birds will use it.

Great idea! I have noticed some of my dog's hairs in nests because when I comb her fur, it gets all over the back yard! So nice to "reuse" things. Such a great capture, I have to fav!
