3rd May 2014 -Spotlight (Cotinus)

I thought this might help with the ID of the plant from my earlier upload. As you can see the leaves are a deep red but when the sun shines through them they look like they are on fire. In autumn the leaves get bright orange patches making wonderful patterns.

Well, I have learnt something, Pam! The leaves are quite big so the bush must be too and quite dramatic when its all this colour!

I like the variation in tone in this one, but think the single leaf makes a more powerful image. The lighting in that one is amazing!
