I moved some pots from a shady area onto my garden wall today as the plants needed some sunshine. As I put one of the pots down this frog jumped out of the pot. This is taken with my macro lens and I am almost nose to nose with him and he did not move. I think it was me shaking as I thought he would jump at me!! He has now made his way back to his shady damp corner of the garden with one hairy moment when Finlay spotted him and tried to get him out from behind a pot. I got the hose out and gave Finlay a shower - he was not happy!!
Update: Finlay managed to get the frog out from behind a pot and we me screaming he did drop it. I chased Finlay indoors and then tried to catch the frog in my dustpan - it has a long handle. There was lots of jumping (the frog) and screaming (me) until I finally managed to get him back to his starting point which must be his home. What an adventure for Prince Charming!! No I did not kiss him - perhaps I should have!! LOL!!
What 5 Favs and on the PP? Many thanks for getting him there - I wonder how?
He looks like he is trying to stare you down. I'll bet you would have really screamed if he had decided to jump just as you are shooting the picture. I have noticed a couple of very small frogs in our patio area too. I wonder where they come from after the rains.
Great close up details. The frogs that live in my garden are treated with respect by my dogs. I think it's because they release a nasty tasting secretion. So if the dog does try to grab them it tastes revolting.
Ha ha ha Very funny story. Just think of the screaming if he had jumped while you were taking the shot and landed on the back of your neck. He is much prettier than our cane toads.
