Spiky plant by pamknowler

Spiky plant

Does anyone know what this plant is? It has very spiky seed heads which turn brown and drop off of the plant. The sticky spikes lay in wait for a passing dog! Both Finlay and George were covered in the spiky balls all over their feet and up the legs. They kept stopping for me to try to pull them off of the fur which was not easy to do and painful for the dogs.

We are not going back to the woods while these spikes are dropping and laying in wait.

Uploaded for my alternate album
I like the detail but they look nasty :)

Nice shot. We call them burs but I don't know what the plant is.

I don’t think it’s a chestnut it has the wrong type of leaf. I would say perhaps a perennial weed like a burdock...

Yes I am sure it is the burdock - the spikes are burs and cling to anything that brushes past it !

No idea what it is, but I do like the green on green look in the composition.
