I have just rescued this starling from the middle of the road. He was chased by two crows and hit the road and they flew up in to a tree. I picked him up as he was still alive and put him in the bushes. I hope he recovers - couldn’t see any injuries. He is a bit vulnerable to the crows and also the local cats. Hope he survives!
He is beautiful. Hopefully he will survive. Here Doves and other birds fly into bay windows and they get stunned. They stay 15 to 30 minutes without moving then they fly away. Hoping it will be the same for this gorgeous bird.

Sad news I’m afraid. I went out a couple of times in the next hour to check on the starling and he had moved in the bushes so I was hopeful. Sadly the next time I went out he had died. I think it must have been the shock of the force which he hit the road with. Horrible crows I didn’t realise they attacked fully grown birds. I know they take eggs and chicks but this was a mature starling. Anyway at least he wasn’t in the middle of the road! Thanks for all your comments!
