On the roof

The roofer came today to repair my roof where the ridge tile flew off in the tornado we had a few weeks ago. So pleased with the job they did. He came recommended by my friends husband who did my work last year.

I have turned away 3 different men who knocked on my door and they were all definitely pikies. My neighbour warned me about them as she had a builder working who saw the men. He said they would have got on the roof and then found “more damage” and when more money was paid they would have gone without doing any repairs. Genuine workmen do not need to cold call on your door asking for work! What a sad world we live in!

You have to be on the ball these days…you’re right proper builders are snowed under with work so no need to be knocking on doors! I like your brickwork! It’s a long time since I heard that word….we have a fair few of them up here as you can imagine not that far from Blackpool.

I had to ask Mr Google what a pikey was, I agree that proper workmen would never need to knock on doors.

I really need a roofer, I'd ask for his name but its probably a little bit too far to come
