eeer WOW, I drove though Ashridge last weekend and there wasn't one in sight!! This was the picture I had in my head when I went out bluebell hunting on Saturday...but there was nothing as spectacular as this! A FAV from me!

@pixiemac Thanks Sarah especially for the Fav!! It was funny I was at my nephews house in Milton Keynes and when I asked about bluebells he said Ivinghoe Beacon. I told him you had mentioned some woods but couldn't remember the name. Turns out its the same place. The bluebells really needed a few more days of warmth to really open. The perfume was wonderful. One of the best displays of bluebells I have seen - these pics don't do it justice!! If its warm and sunny this week I want to go back but not holding my breath as forecast is dire!!

I love the bluebells of course - but I especially love the way the green is repeated in the mossy trunks!

Remember to take your 100 - 400 coz at the Berkhamstead end of the main road through the common there are often deer. When my daughter and I drove through the other day there were about 8 at about noon.

@pixiemac Fingers crossed - I love deer!!

@kittikat Thanks Kitti!!

If you love deer, you need to go to Woburn....not into the safari park, just the grounds, you will be in heaven!!!

@pixiemac Yes I went last year in the rut (which didn't seem to happen). I was driving through the deer park and saw a stag with his harem. I stopped the car and got out and managed to get a wonderful shot of him standing in the sun. A car pulled up and it was the warden to tell me you are not allowed to get out of the cars!! Naughty naughty!! But I got a great shot!! LOL!! The best place I have found for deer is Bradgate Park, Leicestershire. Great place for red deer - well worth the drive!!

That is truly a sea of bluebells. Very nicely captured too.

beautifully captured, though they are a bit late this year I think the wait has meant one of the most stunning displays in the last few years.

@sansjuan @davidgnc many thanks for your great comments! David I think you are right. Everything is so late this year. These Bluebells are still not fully opened but we need some warmth to really perfect this display.
