I cropped in close with this image and decided to try B&W. I ended up using a film noir filter and felt it changed the whole feel of the building making it look a bit scary!! Not sure if it works or not.

I had the movie Dead Again on while working on some stuff and there were a few scenes of a 'scary' building when they did the b&w flashbacks. When I opened your image, that's immediately what came to mind. The graininess and b&w dark tones make it quite gothic looking. I, for one, would NOT want to get any closer to it. So very effective shot!
I really like this spooky grainy feel to this. I would say you achieved your goal! What software did you edit in? I have a tree that I want to make look spooky, and you look like the right person to ask.
@888rachel thanks Rachel. This was 3 shots combined in photomatix and then converted to b& w in NikEfex pro using the film noir filter. The Nik Efex program is fab - so many choices and so easy to use! I look forward to seeing your tree.
