4th July 2015 - Wild orchid

So thrilled to finally see my first wild orchid of the year!! Sadly it's a bit past it. It was in the middle of a field with really tall wild flowers and grasses and has been hidden every time I have walked this path in the last week. So pleased to see it peeping through the greenery this morning.

How beautiful! I hear that we have Lady Slipper orchids up here...and I did see one once, but I've never seen anything like this with so many blooms! A lovely find to share with us!
