2016 02 07 - Washing on the line

Another shot from Friday's drive out when I got my shots of the viaduct. We stopped in the village of Rockingham and I was taking shots of some of the pretty thatched cottages when I noticed the garden behind the house.
I love to see washing on the line and especially love the smell of the washing when you bring it in!! Am I alone in this I wonder?
This looked like an old English country garden and a place I would like to sit in the summer sunshine - if we ever get any!! LOL!!

Uploaded for my extras album
Lovely colourful shot. I also love to get my washing out to dry, not that there has been any chance lately. Much cheaper than using a dryer and they smell really fresh.

You can pretty much see this sight in my garden every fine day although I have a very large Australian rotary washing line. My washing goes out at every possible moment but must admit I very rarely see anybody elsies washing on the line down our lane. My next door neighbour hangs hers out but we are about the only ones. Lovely sunshine here too, it looks like a mid summer photo!

There's some lovely brightly coloured laundry to cheer one up on a winter day. It looks like a rather pleasant spot to sit and while away some time.

I love the look of washing on these lines, it seems to lose the charm when pegged on the rotary hoist :)

They have lovely colourful washing too. I agree, the smell of washing fried by the sun is so lovely.

@888rachel You made me laugh Rachel!! The phrase "fried by the sun" is not something that happens very often in the UK. Maybe warmed would be a closer description!! LOL!!

I love the vibrancy of this capture. Hanging washing out to dry is not something done in Chicago, but it is something I love to do when I go home and visit my mum. I totally understand what you mean when you say about the smell. Ah memories :)
