2016 10 26 Landing Practice

Last night/early morning - about 2am I was out in the garden with Finlay and I could hear lots of activity on the water. There were lights flashing and a large boat went up the river and stopped and I could hear lots of activity.

Today the boat came back into the bay and we watched the front of the boat being lowered and a strange looking jeep drove off into the water. The boat circled round the bay and then came back to pick up the jeep. It looks like the army/marines are practising their beach landings.

This made my walk with Finlay very interesting today!!

That would be fascinating to watch! I was thinking abuot how we have a Marine Base down the coast...thinking, we should have taken you there...but no, that's in California! We do see some interesting training going on as we drive along the highway there! Actually, I'm glad to know there's some practice going on!

Goodness me, that'd've livened up the day no end. Pray tell, why were you out in the garden at 2am???

What an experience...same question as @golftragic ! And interesting image to go with your narrative.

@golftragic @taffy did you need to ask? Finlay of course! He had a tummy ache I think and was on the floor in my room making a groaning noise! Into the garden and it was pitch black as all the street lights had been turned off! Something to do with the militaries night exercises I think. All Finlay wanted to do was eat grass and so I was out there for quite some time and I could hear all the activity. We were also out there again at 4am and 6am! When it was time to get up Finlay of course was in his bed fast asleep! It's a dog's life! Lol!

@Weezilou yes Louise it's reassuring to know that the soldiers/marines are getting this kind of training. Who knows when or where in this crazy world they might be required to use it?

@pamknowler Big laugh...one of the few things that are good about not having a dog. Poor Finlay...good thing he at least could catch up on his sleep.
