2016 12 27 - Don't shoot - I'm protected!!

As the beaters waved their flags the birds on the lake lifted off and tried to escape - sadly most of them flying into the path of the guns. Luckily for this swan he is protected and was allowed free passage.

@maggiemae It was mallard ducks Maggie. They have introduced them to the lake as ducklings earlier this year and have been feeding them up all year.
