Great capture of the aircraft amongst the buildings.

This is awesome!

@gill The auction house is located in this bulding at the rond point des Champs Elysées. The aircraft will be sold there by end of October and is exposed in front of it! I did nothing except seeing it while passing and taking a picture. I hope my explanations are useful, I wish I speak better English...

Terrific shot Helene. Very nicely done.

Wow, this is an amazing picture. Love the lighting which gives it loads of atmosphere.

Very cool...so unexpected. A Mirage aircraft is the last thing I would have thought to see parked along the Champs Elysees!

@peggysirk thank you Peggy, for me too... it's why I said it's an "amazing discovery", very unusual!
October 14th, 2010
Lovely shot! :) I'd put in a bid but i think my neighbours wouldnt be happy with this parked outside the house.
October 14th, 2010
@fluffy I can't park it in the street of Paris, otherwise I'd put a bid on you!

I don't know if you're familiar with aircraft photography Helene, but that lighting effect is actually very common in that area. It's interesting to see it occurring on a parked plane, especially in the centre of Paris. The contrast between the plane and the building beside it is interesting...

very cool. love the lighting. you really do find the best & most unexpected things in Paris. well done.

What a fantastic photo. This plane is amazing and such a bargain! Great area to showcase it for auction. Nice shot.

There is nothing wrong with your English and I would image it is WAY better than all our French combined ( and I studied it four for years! )
October 15th, 2010
What a neat find! I love the light in this shot, and the composition is beautiful! Your English is great! I took 6 years of French, but when I went to Paris a few years back, I was embarrassed to find how little I remembered. I did my best and found that the Parisian stereotype was not at all true... as long as I tried to speak and tried to have a decent accent, people were very nice.

I'll get my checkbook! LOL That is a beautiful capture of history.
October 15th, 2010
Great, now I have to go shop for a hangar.
October 15th, 2010
@bradsworld LOL, seriously it's very cheap for a mirage no?
October 15th, 2010
@helene @bradsworld yes it will never go at that price, but it will need avionics and it burns about $1000 in Jet A-1 an hour. So even if you did buy it you would need a few more dollars to plate it and drive it home...
October 16th, 2010
Great shot. I like the lighting of the aircraft.
October 16th, 2010
but how cool to own one! I'll put in a bid!
October 16th, 2010
