It's always hard to take a photo of an iconic building as it is so familiar to the eyes of many - but this is such a fresh and unique take - great shot - instant fav. (loved the Ile de la Cite)

Wow this is a different view - so are you on the 'mainland' taking this across the water? I'd love to be in Paris for Easter - such a pain having kids doing exams!

I think this shot was taken in the vicinity where my wife and I stopped for something to drink at a cafe.

Helene your photos are always so wonderful! Even though I haven't been to Paris, your photos never fail to make me feel like I'm there seeing it with my own eyes. As usual great photo, fav!

Beautiful Helene ... this works really well in b&W, all that detail really shows.

love the feeling of foreshortening here, and the skew lines of perspective of the church which is at an odd angle relative to the front buildings. it's like a painting by Picasso or Klee, where the odd lines make it more real than reality. very very nice.

A totally different perspective for a shot of Notre Dame. Well done.

I'm reading about the difference in the quality of an urban experience where there was no formal town planning and things developed 'naturally' vs how barren the 'planned' cities of the world are. Over and again the author mentions Paris as the ultimate example of how you'd never design a new place like Paris because it's not 'logical'. yet that it is so much better a place to live in. This picture could be that illustration. It's glorious in the riot of difference, yet all blending together.

gosh you are so lucky to live in Paris....those buildings look like dollshouses :)
