I'm reading a book called the Coral Thief at the moment - set in Paris as Napoleon is en route to St Helena (sorry - shouldn't mention those dark days!) but it's so making me want to be in Paris!!
LOL..I know that place. The first time I came to Paris my daughter met me at the airport. We were supposed to get off at Temple for our hotel but the train just kept going past it. We got on both ways. Finally we found out that it was CLOSED for repairs so we got off at République.
We came up out of the Metro with all of our luggage dragging with us and I said "Well which way now....?" and she said "I have NO IDEA." Can you believe we got lucky and PICKED THE RIGHT AVENUE???
@gingersanders thanks for sharing the story with me, makes me laugh, even if i can imagine it was not funny at all when it happened! you were lucky to find the right avenue, such a big place, i can't get the right one all the time, somedays i missed the one i'm looking for!

Temple reopened the day we left.
