I hate cemeteries and in my entire life I've never been in the famous Montmartre one. When I had dinner with Lux last week, she told that she wanted to visit le Père Lachaise cemetery ( http://365project.org/luxvivens/encore/2011-08-30). It gave me the idea of going into the Montparnasse cemetery as I was very closed to it today. To tell you the thruth I was only looking for wild cats but didn't see any and this is the biggest cat I've met. Of course I ended up with many pictures of the graves, as you can see on my blog: http://aparisouailleurs.canalblog.com/archives/2011/08/29/21892061.html

Great picture - glad you entered the cemetery - personally I love cemeteries for photo opportunities. I tend to visit them every where I go as they are so different the world over. Usually very graphic and full of history. As for me, I have no ambition to be buried, but cremated and tossed to the winds so that I may continue to be free. ;)
Wow, this is fantastic! We almost ended up going to the Montmartre Cemetery, thinking that Oscar Wilde was there... French cemeteries are both creepy and cool. So different from German cemeteries, where there are flowers and not only stones and much more space between the graves. But your stones and ornaments are definitely cooler! How long do the graves remain? In Germany you buy them for 30 years and then have to renew if you want.
I like this cat!
And trust you to find a beautiful cat Helene!!!
