I can't anymore because of my back but I miss it so much.
@parisouailleurs I rode in my 20s and had my own horse for a few years while living in North Carolina. She was a mix of thoroughbred and quarter horse (the vet thought -- I 'rescued' her when she was sick, it was winter, and she looked pretty motley. She survived with tons of meds, gained 300 pounds, coat came in jet black, and she was really gentle and wonderful). I taught her to jump, from learning to stop crossing her front feet to actually going over standard jumps. I could go up to 3', but wasn't confident going higher. My friend could take her up to 3'6" and won ribbons with her. Many many happy days. I had to sell her when I moved to Minnesota for grad school as boarding her inside would have cost more than my rent. Very sad day, but she went on to lead hunts .. then I lost track of her.
