When I spotted this little patch of marigolds I realised that they were the first ones I'd seen for many years. At one time nearly every garden in my neighbourhood had these in them.
I think they have been ousted by the more flashy hybrid varieties which is a shame so I will go back and take some seeds and have a revival in my garden.
A lovely colourful shot! When I was at school we were each given a marigold in Biology so we could draw it and label the parts. When the homework was finished, the rather pathetic specimen was planted, and for years my mum had a wonderful display of them.
Good for you, Pat. I love them too and have some in one of our flower boxes..darn it, a squirrel was in there and wreck hovac, but I put them back in and hope they will survive. fav.
