I had a lovely walk along the canal today. The water plants have all risen to the surface now and there were lots of dragonflies and damselflies around.
I managed to catch this male demoiselle damselfly after trying for 15 minutes for him to sit still. It’s not as sharp as I would have liked but they are so skittish so I’m really pleased to have him in my bug collection.
He's very pretty! Great shot! The only ones I've seen around here (southern Ontario, Canada) that have anything like that colour are male Ebony Jewelwings, but their wings are black, so the overall look is quite different.
