K2 Final

This is the start of the mens 200 metre K2 sprint race final at the National Water Sport Centre,
above the canoes is a radio control camera drone filming the race for TV.
leading boat in lane 5 went on to win the final crewed by Jon Schofield and Liam Heath the GB 2012 Olympic bronze medalist in the 200m K2 Class.

Great shot and lots of action going on in this scene. There was a radio controlled camera drone filming an event at the beach at Shoal Bay a while ago, but unfortunately, the wind was so strong the damned thing flew off into the bush. Oops. I think the recovered it though.

Neat shot, Peter. Did you try and get a ride with the guy on the dingy in the foreground? I can tell you with all certainty that if I was using a tripod on a small boat and trying to shoot images like this, I'd be in the water in no time.

@stray_shooter Stayed on firm ground all day, it is a purposed built rowing course with flat clam water, knowing my luck I would be over the side when it started to move:)

Nice capture peter. Not sure about using a tripod in a bumpy boat. I would have thought hand held would cushion some of the bumps a bit.

@terryliv Thanks Terry I agree with you, no need for the boat at all as they had chase camera cars, fixed cameras on the bank plus the drone:)
