Between Ops

This Spitfire was on display in a car park along with a pilot at the 1940's weekend at Brighouse
this Spitfire bears the markings of Johnnie Johnson the fighter ace who survived WWII and died in 2001,
I framed the shot to avoid modern street furniture and the public:)
Really nostalgic and great in monochrome Fav

I was just thinking how much I like the framing when I read your commentary. This chap portrays the 'nonchalance' of a fighter so well. Fav

@onewing Thank you Babs that was the idea, not sure there would have been so much clutter around an aircraft at dispersal in the 1940's but it made for an interesting shot:)

@quietpurplehaze Thank you for your lovely comments and fav. Hazel, the chap was reading a genuine 1940's paper and all the other artifacts were of the period:)

Great image Peter, I do like how you set this one up and it reveals a moment in time gone by. I'm glad to see he is not using a cell phone. :)

@novab That was the intention when framing the shot Nova definitely would not have work with a mobile phone in the shot, lol:)
