Water Lily by pcoulson

Water Lily

A lone Water Lily in bloom
now i consider this to be excellent.. the detail retained in the white petals is quite phenomenal when one considers the the light.. i'm really struck by the water laying on the far leaf, it has some fabulous swirly patterns on it's surface.. the leaf itself is well endowed with shapes too.. it's underside, which is visible next to the bloom, is so lovely with it's network of veins. the rolled leaf also is interesting, for it's veins which form patterns resembling the windows of a church and the sticky gossamer of old spider webs and other debris.. the broken and past it's best leaf, bottom left, will soon be replaced by the lovely tightly furled leaf awaiting it's turn to shine.. for me, a beautiful and beguiling image..
