Derelict Building

The remains of Westwood Mill Linthwaite West Yorkshire, built in 1798 used for wool processing originally powered by water before the installation of a 85hp water turbine in 1920
An interesting building. Nice to know the history.

That's quite a long history! I love the beauty of old things that decompose in front of us!

Lovely shot of this interesting building, pity it cannot be used for something else.

How sad that it has been left to go to ruin. Maybe someday somebody with a truck load of money will restore it.

@Weezilou Many thanks for your comment Louise, unfortunately although protected by a safety fence to stop vandalism its not protected from the elements and is falling apart:)

@ludwigsdiana Thank you Diana for your comment, its now a listed grade 2 building, that means it cannot be knocked down only left to the ravages of time or restored retaining as much of the building as possible:)

@onewing Thank you Babs, In 2005 the new owners of the mill were given building consent to convert the buildings for residential use which clearly has yet to happen, although some work has been carried out to secure the buildings from vandalism and further collapse:)
