On 17 May 2019 this bronze memorial to the Duke of Wellingtons regiment founded in 1702, made by Devon sculptor, Andrew Sinclair,and his partner Diane, was unveiled by the 9th Duke of Wellington in the Woolshops area of Halifax.

The 33rd Regiment was unquestionably the best trained regiment in the British Army at the time of the 1775 – 1783 American War of Independence and were involve in the following battles,
1776 – Brooklyn Heights, White Plains, Fort Washington
1777 – Brandywine, Germantown
1778 – Freehold
1779 – Verplants
1780 – Charleston, Camden
1781 – Guilford Court House, Yorktown
