Old Graveyard

Colours in the old village graveyard
I bet there is a lot of history here in this graveyard, it looks quite old.

This shot has a dark moodiness to it despite the autumn leaves. Nicely captured, Peter. Fav

@onewing Thank you Babs for your comment, what stories these people could tell,
The churchyard is divided into three main parts, the earliest dates from around 1670 through to 1867. second part dates from 1868 to the mid 1900s. third part from the mid 1900s to the present:)

@365projectorgheatherb Thank you so much for your lovely comment and Fav, Heather, a brief history original called Eastfield Chapel its was built in 1529, the chapel was rebuilt as a church in Neoclassical style in 1775, It was replaced in the late 19th century by a new larger church a short distance away, it was severely damaged by a storm in the 1960s and the old church had to be demolished, only the bell tower now remains on the site:)

Good selection of trees to get succession in colours. Meanwhile the church in this place has had quite a checkered hisrory by the sound of it!
