Racing Incident by pcoulson

Racing Incident

The start of the World Supersport ended red flagged (stopped) on the first lap after one rider crashed and a following rider hit the bike sliding across the track, spilling engine oil along the racing line, this needed to be cleared before the race could be restarted, both riders walked away without injury.
Happy to hear there were no injuries! Great captures.

My goodness, you really caught the action. Thankfully both riders were ok but I imagine the bikes were damaged. Fav for such great photojournalist images.

@spanishliz Thank you for your comment Liz, no one likes to see people get hurt at the racing the crowd always cheer and clap when the rider is back on there feet and walking away, at each marshals post is a doctor and they check over the rider before they can go back to there pit usually on the back with a marshal transport :)

@pcoulson Many years ago I was in the timing tower at Mosport when we lost a rider. Everyone just felt crushed, even though we only heard the news over the comms, so I'm always relieved to see a rider (or driver) walk away from an incident.
