Mormon Temple

Dedicated on 7th June 1998, constructed in white granite with a zinc roof, the light in the tower is always illuminated to show the way to the Church of the Latter-Day Saints.,
Mormon missionaries arrived in the area in 1837 and now train missionaries at Chorley and send them all over the world.

What a spectacular building, so symmetrical. I have noticed that a lot of religious buildings tend to be symmetrical too especially synagogues.

@onewing Thanks Babs, it looks spectacular in bright sunlight (sadly missing in this shot) the white granite almost glows, this is the back of the temple, the front is hidden by trees no good for a photograph;)
