Sunset Crater Volcano by pdulis

Sunset Crater Volcano

Roughly 900 years ago, the eruption of this volcano reshaped the surrounding landscape close to Flagstaff Arizona. Among the lava flow and cinders, living plants are starting to lay down roots again- just one of the wonders of creation.
Nicely composed shot - love the history lesson too.

Love the scene. The light is wonderful...has a nice glow to it. Very lovely!.....WoW...after 900 years they are starting to come back. That is a long time...but we do have lava beds in Oregon that do not have any plant growth in them, so that is probably pretty good!
