Roan Mountain is one of the highest and most beautiful portions of the Appalachian Mountains in western North Carolina. It is also home to Potters of the Roan, a guild of professional potters working in that area.
On Saturday, my stepmother and I went to an exhibition of their beautiful work. I'd love to be a potter with a studio in the mountains...at least in the summertime. :)
Gorgeous collage. I go to ceramic classes and i just love it, I'm not very good, but i can honestly say, playing with clay is the most destressing couple of hours in my week. I wish i was good enough to do it for a living, a studio in the mountains sounds like heaven! :) Nice captures Peggy.
@fluffy So cool that you take clay classes, Fiona! I thought it was supposed to be so relaxing :) Would love to see you post a photo of one of your pieces sometime!
Peggy. . . as so many of your followers are saying, the Roan Pottery collage is excellently and beautifully done. Of course, I have a very special inclination to say that your stepmother's desire to take you there was also instrumental.
@glyn Aww, thanks for thinking of Harper, Glyn! She and her mommy were over here yesterday and I got lots of photos. :) Just trying to decide which to post for today......
