Caught this guy going over the wall last night. Happily I have my first photography class tomorrow ~ perhaps my sophistication level will be fine tuned as well as my photography skills. :)
I'm off to volunteer at an event at the performing arts center. It's "Inside the Brackets" with basketball insiders Bob Knight, Billy Packer, Phil Ford, and Mike Gminski...for those interested in basketball. I'm hoping to get some good info before filling out my brackets. Anyway, I'll catch up with photos and comments later tonight. :)
Oh, yuck yuck yuck!! At first I thought this was a rat! So glad it was a possum, although I don't know if they are any better. Great focus Peggy, and I mean that sincerely!
Um, ditto. Actually, I don't think they are cute because most of the ones I see are splattered all over the road . . . sorry, gross visual! Hope you had fun with basketball royalty :) Maybe you got enough insider scoop to make some dough on your bracket LOL!
You don't think possum butts are classy enough?? I still think ya'll are going to have an unfair advantage after attending the bracket show. I'm going to let Harper make my picks :)
Ooooh dear - that's like an enormous rat behind and I wouldn't like that in camera range! Looking forward to some basketballer shots - you'll need your zoom lens!
Ok - while I admit adult opossum's aren't cute, nor are they cuddly...I can tell you from experience that baby opossums are ADORABLE! My mother @Mary1440 and my Dad were animal rehaber's for a short while and took in an orphaned littler of opossums. They are so cute, and require being carried around in a "pouch" (fanny pack) and they love to crawl out and climb up your shirt to sit on top of your head. We opossum-sat many times and enjoyed the entire process. As they get older they get mean and you have to remove all human contact if you plan to release them...but as babies they are the sweetest little babies - as most critters are. You can still dislike them if you want, but if you ever get a chance to experience them as babies I'm sure you will fall in love too!
Ick! While it is a great shot, I got the willies just looking at it. One night many moons ago, my boyfriend (who is now my husband) dropped me off at my house after a date. A BIG possum was waddling through my yard at the time and scared me to death. From then on I made my boyfriend pull all the way into the driveway and turn on his high beams just to make sure we were possum-less. My husband made fun of me until he was startled by the possum one night. All of a sudden it wasn't funny anymore. Good luck at your class tomorrow!
Eebie Jeebies! That is a brave shot my dear! He sure does look like a big rat! I don't think they are cute either. Nice shot of this creature! I think the hairs on my arms are finally going down...nope, back up again. :)
@pinkribbonwendi I really don't dislike possums at all. I'm a total animal lover. It's just that the adults are SO ugly...those tails are pretty awful. And the little ones are adorable. We have a family of possums that live in the hedges behind our house and I've watched the little guys grow up over the winter into the ugly young adults they've become. :)
Yikes! I'd like to telll you "that's a great shot" but OMG the backend of a Possum is not a pretty sight!! :) I they're kinda cute head on but not from this angle. I give you a high five for getting close enough to take this and for sitting in front of your monitor looking at it long enough to get it posted!!
awww hes got problems with fur..i love rats and possoms and mice .i did get bitten in australia by a possom a nip..it said possom doesnt bite so i put hand in box and it bit me lol
LOL, I thought this looked like a possum behind in the thumbnail and was thinking, "Surely not." I love this--and I do think possums are cute. A little grumpy, but cute
ugh....definitely not his best side!! we've got a lot of these in our area. they like to climb on our shed. i think it's funny to hear them make that kissing noise at each other. great shot!!
