Afternoon Nap by peggysirk

Afternoon Nap

Scrappy's been laying low and staying out of trouble (I think) while he's on the mend following his Easter Sunday epic street brawl. His ear seems to be healing nicely. I think the notch gives him added character. :)
At this moment, he does not look like a tough dude! Glad he's on the mend and has lived up to his name.

The notch makes him look tough....even while posing with flowers.

I love the way in which you included those flowers - it keads the eye right to the kitty.

Beautiful shot Peggy! I'm glad Scrappy is doing better!

Oh he looks so sweet and not at all tough! Yes, the battered ear does give him the true street fighter look. And I see he's reclining right beside some of our beautiful Australian native flowers, too. They really set off the lovely grey colour of his fur.

@girlie Appearances can be misleading...Scrappy's a thug at heart. :) I'm glad to know that mandevilla is native to Australia...I can grow some of your beautiful flora here after all. It seems to love that sunny spot along the back garden wall.

A beautiful photo Peggy ..the lovely flowers & Scrappy lying in the sun !! I bet you he has one eye a little bit open to see if that bully strays into his sights ! Glad he is recovering though !

Beautiful capture Peggy...I'm so glad to hear that Scrappy is doing well. I looks to be enjoying his nap in the sunshine.

The flowers framing Scrappy really do a lot to soften his image. Scrappy looks quite lovely here, damaged ear and all!

Cute! OMG! I just saw that you are on your 356 photo!!!! I still have about 80 to go before I finish. I am kind of looking forward to the end. Its so hard to be creative everyday and come up with a great shot and witty commentary.

...so peaceful...wonderful composition...oh that Scrappy!

He does look angelic here, but I know cats can turn on you quickly. I am a dog lover, though I must say, I have met a handful of cats who can be sweet.

What a sweetie!! So cute and peaceful looking! Glad to hear his ear is healing well!!

You are showing Scrappy's soft side! Great shot and the ear adds a badge of courage!

he is so sweet

@emer He has you fooled, Emer! :)

Oh Scrappy. He truly does look like a soft lovey here, but I'm guessing if someone disturbed his nap and tried to take his food, he may not like it. I feel so bad about his ear. Maybe he should get it pierced and look like a true dude. lol!! It amazes me that he's such good buddies with the cat that comes to hang out every now and then. See, he really does have a soft side. :) I love this picture too! The pink color in that beautiful mandevilla just pops against Scrappy's lovely gray fur.

Is that why you call your cat Scrappy because it gets into fights ?
May 11th, 2011
Sweet and innocent! eautiful flowers!

Nice contrast between Scrappy and the flowers - contrast in more ways than one I guess given Scrappy's track record. Glad to hear he is healing.

Oh baby - so glad he's recovered and will live to use another life and give you more gray hairs :-)
May 14th, 2011
He looks too tough to be sitting next to such lovely flowers. :)
May 16th, 2011
Ahhh, what a sweet picture...glad to hear Scrappy is on the mend. He looks like a great big pussy cat here, not some street fighter! :)
