@barbsmith Total chemo fallout day, Barb. But a great excuse to lie low, do nothing, and get Chinese take out for dinner. :) Thanks for remembering and asking. Tuesdays are always great days. :)
@judithg Thanks for the deco compliment, Judith! I've always been a book kind of girl, too. However, when we downsized our lifestyle I had to sell and donate hundreds of books simply due to lack of space. My daughter, Elizabeth, gave me a Kindle for Christmas and I LOVE it. I have an entire book case worth of books on that little gadget already. :)
I love your room & I love my Kindle too ! I got one for Christmas because when I travel to NZ I can never take enough books & they cost a fortune over there . I still like proper books from the library but the advantage with a kindle is you can read all night if you wish without disturbing partner as it has its own light !!!
@jenrobcarr Thanks for the compliment, Jennifer! Actually, out of sight in this photo there IS a closet...one tiny closet in the entire downstairs living area that serves as coat closet, pantry, and general storage space. :) Small space living is one reason I love my Kindle. I can download half a library worth of books all on one small device...not to mention the convenience factor. I can shop for books directly from the Kindle and they are downloaded in no time. Instant gratification. :)
http://www.goodreads.com/ its a great place to see what your friends are reading how they rate books, you can join discussions in the different genres you like and sometimes your favorite author is on there if youre lucky!
You are getting awfully close to the 365 mark...hope you don't call it quits...your photos are wonderful...and I hope tomorrow is much better for you...
I'm so sorry that Mondays are tough for you, or that you even have to go through any of this. I too love your decorating in this room. The soft tones make it look like a very comfy and cozy room. It sounds like the Kindle is the perfect solution for you. Isn't technology amazing. I feel that way about my laptop. I couldn't imagine having to sit up on an uncomfortable desk chair anymore when I can crawl on to a pile of pillows on my bed with my laptop. Feel better my friend. I'm thinking about you, and looking forward to you continuing your second year.....maybe at your own pace???
I know I’m supposed to compliment your picture, and don’t get me wrong, it’s nice. But the room itself is what appeals to me! You have great taste in decor! Sorry to hear you’re going through chemo. Your persona on here is so vibrant and positive, I would have never guessed.
@lisjam1 Thanks for the compliment, Lisa! The chemo thing probably sounds worse than it really is...I'm doing low dose chemotherapy for an autoimmune disorder (RA). It's just enough to give me a good excuse to use Mondays as a day to do nothing. :)
@petersonsheri Thanks, Sheri! I didn't think I would like a Kindle since I'm such a traditional hardcover book lover. But I LOVE my Kindle! It's so perfect for small space living. We just don't have room for the kind of library I had in my former suburban life. :) Still kicking around how I'm going to continue 365. I know I'll continue posting every day through June to have a completely full year. Some of my photos were posted as back fill after I started the project last year. After that I'll continue on some level just to keep in touch with everyone. Hope you're feeling better...
@peggysirk I knew from your previous post you had RA so I was really, really feeling sorry for you if you were battling the Big C, too. Glad to know that’s not the case.
I love my Kindle too and it makes shopping for books so fast and easy (too easy sometimes). Wonderful capture Peggy....your living room looks so warm and inviting, just like your personality. I hope your chemo therapy is a short-term solution for your R/A that brings you positive results.
