Adho Mukha Svanasana by peggysirk

Adho Mukha Svanasana

Translation: Downward Facing Dog...cat style. Scrappy actually had very good yoga form for his Downward Dog pose. I just wasn't quick enough grabbing my camera to catch it all. :)

Three Good Things:
1. Yoga
2. A refresher course via DVD on ISO settings last night. One setting down and a few dozen or so to go. :)
3. Rain clearing out for the weekend
Looks like he may be getting his claws in your yoga mat Peggy!! those are some very substantial paws too! Yoga might be my new thing to do, not going back to calanetics ..too damaging on the knee I think. I quite fancy Zumba, must look up if they have Zumba Gold in the village.

I bet he's a dab hand at a cat stretch as well!

Well caught - has he been watching you by any chance? Never heard of a yoga cat before. My friend's dogs join her 1:1 weekly yoga session and are always snoring within minutes of the lesson starting,

Way to go Scrappy!

Namaste.

I think you're ruining Scrappys' reputation Peggy! If his peeps find out about this, he's going to end up with his other ear ripped off!

Scrappy certainly has it down pat. Love your yoga mat Peggy.

@happypat Pat, the twisting dance moves of Zumba can put some serious stress on your knees and hips. I would recommend that you talk to your doctor before giving it a try. If he gives you an ok it might be a good idea to try an introductory class before signing up for weeks worth of classes. Walking ~ along with gentle Yoga stretches, Yoga with some modifications, and/or Pilates might be the way to go until your knees have fully recovered. Sorry for the unsolicited advice...it's the Personal Trainer in me coming out. :) I'll bet if you Google something like 'Zumba and knee pain' you'll find articles about how Zumba either created or exacerbated knee problems in some people....

@judithg He's a total pro with that move, Judith. :)

@bpaquette :) Namaste

@suesmith Actually, Sue, I think Scrappy's whole purpose here was to sink his claws into my soft Yoga mat just for the fun of it ~ and to call attention to himself. :)

@petersonsheri I think the boy is losing a bit of his 'tough guy' edge in his second half of life, Sheri. He's been spending a lot of time hanging around close to home ~ like curled up in the middle of my bed most of the day...although that's likely to change once warm weather returns. :)

@peggysirk Thank you Peggy, always glad of advice & i knew you would know what's best. I have done yoga before & found it very relaxing & stretching. have been to a couple of Zumba classes a couple of years ago but only managed 50 minutes, they apparently do a class called Zumba Gold which is for older ladies but will see how i feel after the injections on Thursday. I just feel I have lost all the flexibility I had only 6 months ago & I don't like it!!!

Love the POV here, Peggy. Glad to hear you are getting those DVD's out! I catch our cat doing downward dog often. Perhaps this asana is misnamed. I have been lazy about my yoga lately- been doing water aerobics and cardio sculpt classes. Maybe I'll dust the mat off today!

Fun shot! Scrappy doesn't seem like the yoga type, but apparently he has the moves down! He is a cat about town, though, so maybe he into more than we can imagine.
