Halfway Home

This is about the halfway point between my mother's house and mine...it's a 25 mile distance and this is about mile 12. Just got a call from her doctor with the radiologist's report from her recent back x-rays. She has fractures of her L1,2, and 3 vertebrae. :( I'll be driving this route much more frequently for a while.

Three good things:

1. My granddaughter, Harper, will be 3 years old tomorrow. She's very excited! :)
2. Monday Night Football
3. A jar of homemade pickles from my neighbor. Jeff makes the best dill pickles.

I expect your Mum is still in hospital after that awful X-ray result! How on earth did she do this? A long road ahead for you and your mother! I wish my neighbour would give me pickles!

Actually, she's not in the hospital, @maggiemae. She's being treated with pain meds, steroids, and physical therapy. She's amazingly tough. They are compression fractures resulting from a fall. :(

Great suburban urban shot! Get some books on tape for the drive!! Hopefully no disc or nerve damage. Hope she has a grabber for picking up things and some good slipons for her feet. Maybe you could take her out for a pedicure!!! And one for you, too!!!

@bpaquette She goes for an MRI on Thursday, Barbara, to check for nerve damage. I'm hoping since she seems to improving by the day that all is well on the nerve front. Fingers crossed. Believe it or not, my mom mentioned the other day that the first thing she wanted to do as soon as she felt better was to go for a pedicure. I think we'll have to do that very thing at the first opportunity!
