It's autumn, and the sasanquas are in bloom. Sasanqua blossoms are a soft contrast to the bright red, orange and yellows of this time of year.
Hope everyone has a marvelous Monday.
Three good things:
1. A wonderful weekend spent with my sister, Judith, whom I don't see nearly as often as I'd like. I wish we lived in the same town...or at least the same state. :)
2. Potato soup for breakfast...it works well on a Monday morning. :)
3. A cloudy and cool fall morning
I had to google sasanqua as I had never heard that name before....a camelia it said....a very late flowering one too. Very beautiful & such a pleasure at this time of year. I don't see half enough of my sister either!!!
@happypat It is a late blooming camellia, Pat, with smaller and more delicate blossoms. The more common 'japonica' camellias have the bigger blooms that flower in late winter or very early spring.
