The Finishing Touch

With a little help from her daddy and a kitchen chair, Harper put the finishing touch on her Christmas tree. I'm using a photo that my daughter, Molly, texted to me. (I did a little editing to make it sort of my own). I was busy with a doctor's appointment and putting up my tree, and didn't get the camera out today. Hope everyone had a wonderful Tuesday!

Three good things:
1. Good report from my doctor. Might be able to go off chemo in March after four long years of yuck!!!
2. Christmas tree is up...it's a little crooked and not beautifully symmetrical, but I love it. :)
3. The sun came out late this afternoon...first glimpse of sunshine in days!
Great shot, and I bet she was in the joy of her life fixing that tree

A very sweet edited capture - and I'm happy about your 3 good things!

Oh heavenly news about your chemo!!! My daughter with Crohn's has just started chemo as the disease has moved up to the small intestine. She is coping very well, it is a daily oral dose, minimal hair loss, some liver function problems, but she is feeling quite good, all things considered. You must feel wonderful to hope to go off yours...let's keep praying it can be so!!!

@bpaquette Is your daughter doing methotrexate, Barbara? For autoimmune diseases (and certain cancers), it seems to be very effective in arresting progression/symptoms of the diseases being treated. So good that her dosage is broken down into smaller daily amounts...I think that would be much easier on the system as far as fatigue and nausea side effects are concerned. Wishing her all the best!!

She calls it 6 MP I think.

Really sweet shot of this tender fun moment, Peggy. I'm so happy to hear your 3 good things as always. You are so positive and I never knew you were on chemo. All by best to you :-)

@bpaquette I think that Mercaptopurine (6-MP) is an offshoot of the drug Campath (atemtuzumab) - a monoclonal antibody - that @judithg spent time researching...small world.

So glad I found this at the bottom of my scrolling Peggy...such a perfect Christmas scene, I love it! A special family time & with a new little boy too, the best time in to be with small children.
How Proud Harper must be as she puts the finishing touch.

Your three good things are very special to hear...so hope that you are able to be without chemo...such a hopeful outcome. I will wish & hope for a good result for you..big hugs for your good news!! xx

@bpaquette @peggysirk Had a quick look - 6MP is a small molecule drug unlike alemtuzumab (which is massive). They have difference modes of action so can be used together to have a stronger effect. Precious photo - must get Adam to reach up and sort out the top of our tree!
