With the passing of the 12th day of Christmas yesterday, it was time to take down the Christmas wreaths and remaining decorations. (Had to take the tree down a few days ago as the branches had become so droopy the ornaments were falling off). Things look a bit unadorned and less festive now...but on the other hand, clean and fresh for the new year.
Three good things:
1. Got the wreaths down early this morning, before the North winds picked up and the temperatures started to plummet
2. My elderly neighbor thinks I'm a genius. She called yesterday to tell me that her heat wasn't working and could I please come look at it for her. I went over, with the phone # of our ac/heat maintenance and repair company tucked in my pocket. All I did was turn the thermostat off and back on, and went outside to flip the breaker off and on. Ta dah ~ warm air from the vents. I was really surprised, but grateful, that did the trick. :)
3. Last of the Christmas boxes put up in the attic
A lovely shot , I took our tree and decorations down this morning .it is a job I hate doing, every were looks so bare in spite of having brought some flowers to c heer up the room
Beautiful shot Peggy. Your neighbors and Mom are so lucky to have you nearby. Actually, everyone is lucky to have you nearby. You are such a lovely person.
Pretty & of course you are a genius! Normally I can't wait to get the decorations down & the house tidy but I'm quite sad this year - maybe it's because we haven't got a real tree dying on us (but I was jealous of your magnificent one!) Mind you there is still the prospect of loft tidying before we can get the boxes back up & that could be why I'm sad!!
Oh I dread that, but having an artificial tree, we can wait a little longer. My Wife say's it's procrastination. I disagree. It is savoring the holiday LOL.
