Bus Stop Sanctuary by peggysirk

Bus Stop Sanctuary

This was an image that was too poignant for me to ignore. I snapped it quickly so as not to risk insulting her dignity. Then again, maybe to totally ignore her would be the greater insult.

Three Good Things:
1. The city of Charlotte, in conjunction with the Charlotte Urban Ministry, has implemented a program committed to ending chronic homelessness by 2016.
2. Starry nights
3. Spur of the moment decisions
Definitely very poignant image. Glad there is that program.

Glad to hear about the city's plan. This could be a scene from my weekend trip to downtown Nashville. Well captured and shared.

Sadly even with wonderful programs in place, so many homeless people do not want to make use of them. Very poignant shot. Am counting my blessings...

Homelessness is the scourge of the modern world, even in so called rich countries there are so many homeless. Big problem here too so glad your city is trying to improve the situation. I am amazed how this lady is sitting with bare arms in the middle of winter!! Sitting in a wheelchair you can get very cold! Poignant photo Peggy!

@happypat It was close to 70°F/21C that day, Pat. Unusually mild temps for mid-January...but it's been a welcomed break from winter. Unfortunately we're back in the freezer tomorrow.
